I’ve been a fan of graphic design for about 2 years now. Been playing around off and on, especially on slow office days. Here are some sketches and things I’ve worked on. Nothing special but it’s always fun!
DONE
That feeling when you gave it your all on a certain day,

We went to a special effects company in Brooklyn today and saw some flamethrowers, balls of fire, flame bars, rain machines, snow machines, and other crazy stuff. If you’re shooting for a big client, there should be no anxiety on shoot day. You don’t leave until the job is done. That could be 5PM or 5AM. You should know that you have all the time in the world to shoot great images.
JOB VS. CLIENT
There is a big difference between a job and a client. A job is a one time thing. A client is a long term awesome relationship. Cherish your clients. Try to turn your jobs into clients. Clients are what make your career. Not jobs.

LESSON
Every single mistake we make holds a lesson inside of it. I actually LOVE making mistakes but not too many. I’ve learned so much from them. I make less and less as time goes on.

The young photographers doing beautiful studio work copying guys like Kadel and Tsiolis will never become stars. The young photographers need to be original. We all want to be the next Helmut Newton and we shoot like Kadel? We focus on light more than substance?

My cousin Leah Spradley was married to Nicholas Parks summer of last year. Leah works for the EPA and Nick works in finance. The ceremony was at the New York Yacht Club. She just finished the album and sent it to the fam. Thought the images were beautiful.

Breaking Bad
During the holidays, I don’t have work to keep me stimulated. Normally, work makes me feel productive which is essential for me feeling fulfilled.
What have I done during the holidays? I’ve been on a marathon “Breaking Bad” streak. It’s gotta be the best show that I’ve ever seen.
$19 for a full season of 14 1 hour long episodes. 46 episodes in total....

I feel 2012. I really do. 2011 was a year of significant learning. Moved into an office space, Chris moved onto being full time, established office hours, got a full time intern, shot for amazing new clients, and learned many new lighting setups which proved to have better color than previous setups.
We have cut down on a lot of costs this year making for higher profit margins.

VACATION
A little Christmas vacation happening right now. Back to NY on the 28th. Spent the day cleaning my room and listening to old CD’s. Have a dentist appointment tomorrow and have a high school reunion tomorrow night. Fun stuff! It’s sooo relaxing being in Atlanta.
